The Purple Window Project follows the mysterious phenomenon of a large amount of purple lit windows appearing in the small town of Hildesheim in Lower Saxony (GE). Has there been a special offer on purple lightbulbs in a translocally opperating supermarket enterprise? A life hack to feel less isolated and lonely, diffused on social media? Or is the purple light a secret sign of a long-awaited queer*feminist underground network? Having started as a project for walks during covid lock-downs, the growing collection of photos and speculative writing explores the links and possibilities of collective action between seamingly isolated households.
