A non-romantic question for those over the age of 30: Have you ever made a friend that you just got along with right off the bat, and you wish you’d met them earlier in life? That’s how you’ll feel about Oncidium Twinkle! This is an orchid that you wish you’d met earlier, and whose company you’d enjoyed for much longer. It is such a friendly, pleasant orchid to grow, and when it blooms, it can easily hold its own against more showy (or pricey!) orchids. Unlike certain plants in a collection that demand your attention (because they're so rare, expensive, showy, hard to bloom, etc.), Onc. Twinkle, like a good friend, is always there for you. Here are some of the excellent qualities of this unpretentioius, friendly orchid: 1) Very easy to grow, not fussy 2) Multiple bloomings per year (on a larger plant) 3)Outrageous number of flowers (on a larger plant) 4) Very fragrant (some varieties are chocolate-scented!) 5) Miniature, perfect for windowsill, or if your windowsill is already packed, you can grow this on a hanging mount! 6) Tolerant of cool to warm conditions. PLEASE NOTE: Plants are NOT IN BLOOM when shipped. These are established seedling-size plants with one or two growths, and great root systems. They are about one year from reaching blooming size. Please examine the photos carefully to get a sense of the size of the plant you’ll be receiving; there is a size reference (pen or coin) in the picture. Some plants may have leaf ends trimmed (if the ends have dried out, which is a common occurrence with this orchid). Plants will be shipped potted up in 2.25” square pots.

• Tolerant of warm or cool conditions. HOW TO GROW--LIGHT: bright, shady conditions. Avoid direct sun. WATER: 2X/week. MEDIA/SOIL: New Zealand Sphagnum Moss (provided) is excellent, as is well-draining bark mix. FERTILIZER: balanced fertilizer every two weeks. TEMPERATURE: 50 deg F – 95 deg F; keep well watered and misted when very hot. Avoid freezing!
